The cabin is nearing it's completion and we do have to admit it is looking mighty fine! The two east walls we made as accent walls, the pot bellied stove will have a new and incredible local rock home, the siding will be complete by the end of next week along with the chinking which will make it really pop. Here is a preview of the siding without the chinking as that is done last. We have an amazing fire pit that Drew built for times when burning is permitted. Emily will be testing it on Friday for her birthday party bonfire.

Rainbows
Such a beautiful site when we walked outside this evening - a perfect rainbow directly over the B & B. There was a second rainbow starting to form but we had to leave so I am not sure if it fully developed. This one was so vibrant and perfectly complete.

more cabin updates and pictures
Here are a few more pictures of the cabin progress. The insulation is almost complete, the sheetrock is in and he will begin installation on Monday, should take a week to complete hanging, taping and texturing. The roofing has started - turns out the framing/main crew won the bid for the roofing so they are doing that on their own after hours and weekends, so that progress may be a little slower. The facia and sophit are complete and you can see good color all around. I am super-impressed with the entryway as well.

The shingles are here!
The sunset from the B&B
Looking up at the covered porch. The sunset at the lake
The shingles have been delivered and will be done shortly. The entryway is almost complete. I think I passed the insulation delivery on my way into town this morning. Things are looking great and will start moving pretty quickly now. Here are a few pictures I took of the sunset last night.

more on the lake cabin progress
I guess the mere fact that the cabin is going to look incredible makes the wait worth it. It is going to be incredibly beautiful when it is complete :-). We go by nightly and see the progress - maybe if we waited a few days it would look like more but Drew can show me the tideous things that were done each day. The electrician and plumber are finishing up today, the roof should be shingled by the end of next weekend. Click the link to the side for our website. Drew has been working diligently on it and it is looking mighty fine. There are links for pages on the top and the bottom so look around! These photos show the view from the lake, the view from the bedroom and the color of the trim.
